Klostermølle is sited scenically on the delta area of Klosterkær and at the bottom of the vantage point, Sukkertoppen. Klostermølle is part of the Mossø Conservation Area and all the buildings are listed.

There are many visitors to Klostermølle. On a good day during the summer months, there can be more than 500 guests. How many visits made yearly is uncertain, but 20,000 guests a year is a reasonable estimate. Many come by unannounced on a Sunday trip or for a walk in the woods. Others are there for the nature school arrangements, for bird watching trips or for guided tours.

The canoeists camping place is well used by the tourists on canoe trips on the River Gudenå.

The camping place is open from 16.06 – 31.12.

In the woods around Klostermølle, there are marked footpaths one of which leads to the top of Sukkertoppen.

The State Forestry District has expanded the outdoor opportunities available on the property itself through improved parking facilities, footpaths, signposts, benches and tables, a camping area and the bird watching tower.

Through cooperation with The Danish Lake District Ecomuseum, information boards are placed outside, telling the complex story of Klostermølle and its relics. There is a footpath from Gl. Rye to Klostermølle on which the regions distinctive geology and interesting cultural traces can be explained.

There is an exhibition in the old mill house that tells the story of Klostermølle and the interesting landscape all around.
